We are looking at:

A new park is planned for the Molonglo River Reserve and we want your help to design it.

The park has been given the name Namarag, the Ngunnawal word meaning wattle. The name ties into the strong focus on celebrating Ngunnawal people as the traditional custodians of the area and their continued connection to this site.

The park provides sweeping views over the Molonglo River corridor and broader Molonglo Valley. It will offer walking trails, river access, fishing, picnics and nature play. It will help restore bushland and conserve our native plants and animals.

We will use your views to:

Community feedback will inform the final design. Following consultation, final planning on the site will be undertaken by the ACT Government.

We committed $9.7 million over four years in the 2019-20 budget to fix the old sludge drying ponds on the site, undertake significant restoration activities and construct the special purpose reserve.
