Project status: Open
We are preparing to build a state-of-the-art Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) campus alongside a new passenger-friendly bus interchange at the Woden Town Centre.
This significant investment in Woden's renewal will support job creation, both during construction and once the facility is operational, as well as aid long-term economic growth in the area.
It is expected that 6,500 students will use the new campus each year. It will offer students a contemporary educational environment, course offerings suited to jobs of the future and enhanced connections with local industry.
The new bus interchange will integrate with a future light rail terminus. This will encourage active travel in the area and support Woden’s ongoing development as a business, transport and education centre.
We are currently at an early stage of the design process for the project and seeking community input to inform the project’s business case. Project approval will be sought later this year.
More information about the CIT Campus — Woden project can be found in our latest Project Update.
How to have your say:
We are at an early stage of the design process and your feedback will assist our project team to prioritise what is important to you. We are looking to hear from community members, local business, future users of the site (such as bus drivers, VET trainers and assessors, and CIT students) and other key stakeholders.
Our current focus is our 'Design & Values' survey. We want to hear your thoughts on what attributes go into the design of a great campus, building and space.
This includes elements such as building height and layout, green space ratios, connectivity to local facilities, public transport integration, and sustainability features.
There will also be ongoing opportunities for your input throughout the life of the project. These opportunities will be announced periodically via this page.
How we will use your views:
Information and feedback from YourSay will be collected and provided to the CIT Campus - Woden Project Team.
