Project status: Open

The ACT Government is progressing plans to build the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Campus - Woden, a world-leading educational facility and new public transport interchange in the heart of Woden.

This significant investment in Woden's renewal will stimulate job creation and economic growth in the area, both during construction and once the facility is operational.

It is expected that 6,500 students will study through the new campus each year. Students will enjoy excellence in educational outcomes, from digitally-enabled learning spaces, to collaboration opportunities with local industry, and more.

The new public transport interchange will include an improved and expanded bus interchange along with the light rail Woden terminus, future proofing the area for light rail to Woden. These developments will encourage active travel in the area and support Woden’s ongoing development as a business, transport and education centre.

More information about the CIT Campus — Woden project can be found in our latest Project Update.

How to have your say:

We are currently at an early stage of the project and seeking community input to inform design development. Get in contact by emailing us at citcampuswoden@act.gov.au

In May 2020, we launched our Design & Values Survey, which asked you what elements of design you felt were important to consider as the project is developed. More than 400 survey responses were received, with the community indicating a preference for well-integrated buildings of up to 12 stories, featuring activated common areas and green spaces. For a snapshot of the survey results, view the What We’ve Heard report.

How we will use your views:

Information and feedback from YourSay will be collected and provided to the CIT Campus - Woden Project Team.
