Introduction

Almost 1,900 YourSay Panel members took part in a survey about transitioning from gas to electricity in the home.

The survey was conducted between 3 and 8 February 2021.

The ACT Government were seeking to understand how energy was being used in the home and whether Canberrans had switched, or were considering switching, from gas to electric appliances and systems. This included understanding what barriers were in play and what steps or actions could encourage people to transition from gas to electricity.

The results from the survey were provided to the Gas Transition Steering Committee and Government Cabinet Subcommittee and are being used to help develop a Gas Transition Plan for the ACT.
